Hello everyone –
Are you all thinking spring as much as I am? There is still snow on the ground around my home. The spring rains are helping to melt what is left and we are ready for those flowers to start blooming. The change of the seasons is just as refreshing as the change of officers in your chapter.
Thank you to all who have stepped forward to serve in this capacity for your chapter. As well, thank you to all who served last year. New leaders – please make sure that you read Barb Cady’s message in the April-May issue of TOPS News….she has some very inspiring words for you.
Also, please make sure that you or your chapter designate takes the chapter survey found under the Leaders Corner on TOPS website. This short survey will give you an opportunity to evaluate how your chapter is doing and what things you might be doing to assist your chapter. Deadline to complete the survey is May 31st. If your leader doesn’t have email, a chapter member may be listed as a designate and have access to your chapter information. All chapters that have a current email address listed for the leader will be offered a special "thank you" which will be featured in July TOPS News. So, make certain that your chapter has an email address listed for the leader by July.
In addition, you may want to plan Open Houses and other chapter activities to attract new members during the fall to increase the benefit from this bonus. Chapters will earn credits for each new full price member joining between July and December. TOPS will email the chapter a monthly accumulated total of credits earned. When there are four credits, you just print out the email, attach it to any full-price membership or renewal and send it to your coordinator with no money!
As a reminder – the deadline for applying for this year’s retreat scholarship is also fast approaching. All entries must be received at TOPS Headquarters by May 31st. This is the perfect opportunity to receive a free retreat if you have had the desire to attend – but not the funds. Remember - you can’t win if you don’t apply.
Two great new programs are also in this issue of TOPS News. Does your chapter use these great tools? If not, why not try doing them this month? Everyone has their own copy and you can work through them together.
SRDs are in full swing and I am excited about seeing all of you soon and to celebrate the successes of your members. I had a great time in New Mexico and Louisiana already this year and I’m looking forward to the rest of my visits in April and May.
IRD is fast approaching and I’d love to have you come to Milwaukee and show you a bit of “my state”. Several states have buses traveling to IRD. If you need more information – check with your Coordinator to see if anyone is planning such a trip in your area.
Until next time – I Care - TOPS Hugs - Bev
