Seasons Greetings to everyone –

It’s that wonderful time of the year again as we busily prepare for the Christmas Holidays.   I stepped outside of the box this year and went shopping the Friday after Thanksgiving.  (Now I remember why I don’t do that.)  I set out with a very positive attitude that this was going to be a great day.  My first store found lines all around both sides of the store to the back of the store.  That was okay as I had an opportunity to take my time and browse while waiting for the line to grow smaller.  I finally decided to take my purchases and get in line and had pleasant conversation with others waiting in line for 45 minutes.  On to the next store - where my experience wasn’t as pleasant.  Why oh why do people shop on this day if they have such a negative attitude?  The clerks were angels as a lady complained in disgust about a purchase she had made earlier.  And so it was – customers that probably should have stayed home instead of fighting the crowds.  All in all – it was not a bad day.  I finished my shopping and even wrapped the gifts.  If you haven’t finished your shopping yet – here are a few “no cost” gift ideas:

The end of the year 2008 is fast approaching as well as the end of our weight recording for tabulation of our winners for the year.  Make certain your weight chart is in order and signed so your weight recorder and officers can prepare our annual weight loss resume which is due to your Coordinator on or before January 8^th.  

A reminder to all members with renewals due in 2008, please make sure you send those to your Coordinator right away.  With the upcoming price increase to $ 26.00 effective January 1^st, it will make her job much easier to submit those in 2008.  Any renewals that are postmarked in 2009 will be charged the new dues amount.  To those members who have a renewal pending for 2009, make sure you submit the appropriate fee of $ 26.00 – your Coordinator will love you for that. 

With the end of 2008 comes the beginning of a new year….and our new theme “It’s My Time”.  I hope that all of you take time to do those special things just for you…time to eat healthy, time to exercise, time to do your food chart, time to attend your chapter meetings and to take some special time “just for you”.  My wish for you is to have a happy, healthy 2009.
