Happy New Year to everyone  –

As we leave 2008 behind and enter 2009, I hope this is the year for all of us to be successful in reaching whatever goals we have set.  With that in mind (and our new theme for 2009 being “It’s My Time”), I thought I would share these interesting facts about time:

  • Did you know that you have 168 hours a week at your disposal, allowing for 52 hours on average spent sleeping and 40 hours spent working you still have 76 hours per week unaccounted for.
  • 76 hours per week equals 3,952 hours per year
  • 3,952 hours per year equals 164 days
  • 164 days of the year equals 45% of the year available
  • Almost half your time is spent working and sleeping, which leaves you almost half the time every year in which to do something different.
  • Time is the most valuable commodity there is because it can never be replaced.
  • In most cases time can be found by swapping unproductive activities for productive ones.
  • How you can actually reach your life goals if you never find the time to?

“It’s My Time” is our new theme for this year.  I hope that each of you will use your time in the best ways possible.  Take time to attend your chapter meetings; plan your weekly menus; record in your food diary; exercise regularly; and most important – to take time just for you.    We all have the same amount of time in the day.  How will you use your time?

Thank you to everyone who sent Christmas greetings.  I hope your Holidays were wonderful.  By now your weight charts and resumes are on their way to your Coordinator where she will soon be tabulating the winners for our 2008 awards.  Good luck to everyone.

Soon you will be receiving your annual SRD letter.  Please watch for the deadlines noted in the letter and help your SRD committee by responding on time.  I am excited about seeing all of you again at your SRD this year as we honor our chapter royalty, KOPS and division winners.  If you have a “State Winner” please assist them in whatever way you can to attend SRD and receive their special award.

As we start the New Year – remember “It IS My Time”.
