It’s official – summer is here and I hope that everyone is staying on track with all of the extra social activities that go along with the season (picnics, fairs, etc.).
I was delighted to see this month’s issue of TOPS News as several members from our area were highlighted in this issue. Joann Sage of Michigan is featured in an article about her Century Award; Texas Coordinator Cindy Moore shares a “Reality Check” article that she sent to all of her chapters; and past Texas State King, Tommy Moore shares his success story with everyone. It’s great seeing our members’ successes in the TOPS News. If you can’t find your recent issue, you can now go to our website at www.tops.org and view it on-line (often before you receive it in the mail). And what do you think about the new look of the website? Isn’t it great!
Soon we will be headed to IRD in Halifax, Nova Scotia for TOPS International Recognition Days were several of our members will be honored for their weight loss success. This is always an exciting time to see those members who have achieved the highest weight loss internationally – and among them will be several from our area. All will be featured in upcoming issues of TOPS News. So keep your eye out for the next issues.
I want to thank all of the chapters that supported their area captain’s travel to IRD through their generous “Love Gifts”. As well, thank you to those chapters that have shown their gratitude for the captains visiting your chapter and presenting the “Stress Management” program. They are a guest speaker in your chapter. So if you offer a thank you gift to others that come to speak to your chapters, this is no different. If you haven’t had a visit from your area captain yet this year, make sure you make an appointment with them. It is a wonderful program – and they would be excited to share it with you.
Stay cool,
safe and enjoy the summer.
TOPS Hugs to all -
Bev Staniak TOPS Regional Director
